Trip to Shawnee

Yesterday we took a trip to see a cousin play in a band.  His name is Thurman Hester.  He is the son of Lola who was a half sister to my grandpa Fred Coats.  I was impressed at the dancing and outfits the older people wore.  They were all so fashionable.  The band was wonderful as well.  I sang two songs "I Fall to Pieces" and "Amazing Grace" with them.  It went seamlessly and I had never rehearsed with them.  I hope I act like this when I'm older someday.  Dayona and I danced.  She also danced with her nana.  We even line danced.  Later Dayona told me that she had wanted to sing.  She has also recently told my mom she wished she was eight so she could go to high school!  Fun trip with fun girls!

Motorcycle Girl

Papa got a new motorcycle and we can't believe how much Dayona loves it.  She is constantly asking to ride nana and papas bicycle.  She is also very caring.  The other day she ask her nana why papa didn't have presents at his birthday, and then she ask him how the socks worked that we had got him for his birthday.  Its kind of disgusting but she also has caught two flies in the past week with her bare hands.  She is so quick.  We put one in her bug house and looked at it for a minute before setting him free.  She also sang a special at nana and papa Byrd's church.  She sang "this little light of mine".  I thought she might be nervous, but was I ever wrong.  She kept asking when it would be her turn, and was very comfortable and active on stage.  So proud of my big girl!!
